Our son had 2 heart surgeries when he was 11. These surgeries, as well as a big life-saving one that occurred just after his birth, plus all of his many other health issues, are because of congenital defects. But what continues to totally blow my mind is that the origin of EVERY single one is traced to the 7th week of pregnancy.
This is why it blows my mind…7 weeks gestation is the exact week I was told I was starting to miscarry him. 7 was the exact week Satan tried to destroy our promised son, the son God told us before he was even conceived what to name him. 7 was the exact week we prayed for a miracle. 7 was the exact week God fought for his life in the heavens and was victorious to complete his frame.
Psalm 139:13-18 truly reveals the miracle of pregnancy. When he was so tiny you would need a microscope to see his organs, Satan tried to stop the Father from knitting together his inmost parts in the secret place. A surgeon has fixed electrical wiring in his heart, but can you even imagine how tiny the electrical wires in his heart were at 7 weeks gestation? When he was only the size of a blueberry? In my now teenage son I see the evidence of the spiritual war that was being fought over him. Big in the spirit, but in the natural form of a blueberry sized baby, too small for anyone other than God to see.
Our boy has 2 surgery scars on his side, one of which is deep and sinks into his side, which he really doesn’t like. But God gave me a vision of him when he goes to heaven and meets Jesus. Jesus shows my son the scar on His own side from the crucifixion spear and says “Hey son, I have one too.”
In Scripture 7 is associated with divine completeness and promises fulfilled. He knits together cells with just His breath, and only asks us to use our breath to praise Him. How precious are God’s thoughts toward us, they are too numerous to count! (Psalms 139:17-18)
God created you so beautifully and intently!
God is fighting on your behalf even when you can’t see it!
He will reveal Himself as goodness and miracles in your life if you only look!
He loves you so completely - every cell of your body, every care in your heart, every second of your life He is thinking more lovely things about you than you could ever count. He is a good Father who knows you intimately, but also the mighty creator and redeemer of the world. God the Creator, Fighter, and Father!
